Do my weapons/nil-naks from Ch1 need to be in the crate to properly load into Ch2

Basically I just got done beating the free Aftershocks DLC for SnS Chapter 1 and some time this week I’ll start playing Chapter 2. I have stuff that’s scattered about the bus in the cemetery to decorate it to make it look more lived in (like the dolls and war trophies on the tables/weapons on the racks) For all my stuff to transfer over do I need to put it into the crate or will it work just fine out in the world space?
