LG TV insect trapped in screen
Post Body

Looking for some assistance with an issue. I bought an LG65UN8500AUJ from Costco back in January. About 3 months ago, I noticed a spot that appeared to be dead pixels and set up a service call. The service agent seemed the issue as ā€œimpact damageā€ and said LG would not cover it. Upon further inspection, I noticed that it was a dead bug sandwiched between the panels.

Iā€™ve contacted LG and a local service agent multiple times and am being told that this is not covered under warranty and would be a $1,000 repair. I followed up again today and was told that this issue will void all warranties on the unit (I have an extended warranty to 3 years).

Although both LG and the service agent have told me it is close to impossible for a bug to work itā€™s way between the panels, they will not cover this. The TV is inside of our house and we have an exterminator spray every month. There is no ā€œinfestationā€ in the area.

Can anybody please advise and solutions that can help with getting this issue resolved? LG has been far from supportive.
