Philips 42PFL7422D/37 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Possible backlight bleeding/leakage
Post Body

So, our next door neighbors were throwing this TV out around Christmas Eve. My brother and I went and brought it home from the curb and plugged it in and saw that it worked very well, and has the great Pixel Perfect feature. I have been using it since then, but it always has this horrible cloudy patch in the center and around the edges. It is not noticeable at all until there is a dark image. I guess this is a pretty common issues with LCD screens.

I am just curious what exactly I could do myself to fix this TV. I use it as my primary monitor for my gaming PC. Picture is really excellent, and colors are as well. The Pixel Perfect feature is really amazing as my previous 32 inch TV didn't look nearly as good despite having better pixel density.

Here is the particular model.

Here are some pictures of my issue.

You can really notice it in the first 2 and last pictures the best.
