I’ve read a few varying opinions online about anastrozole with trt. From what I’ve gathered, it sounds like the best thing to do is only take it if your blood test shows your e2 out of range or if you have obvious symptoms like nipple soreness.
However, the part that I’ve seen different opinions about is whether to use or not use AI’s when first starting trt. Some people have said that using very low doses 2-3 times a week is good when first starting but others have said avoid it altogether unless you have symptoms.
Of course, I plan to get periodic blood tests done but I’m early into trt so my blood test is still going to be a few weeks away, so I was wondering if I should take a preventative approach by using small doses or if it’s better to only treat it once e2 is actually high.
I’ve also heard that when treating high e2 to not consistently use anastrozole since that can crash your estradiol which is apparently horrible and possibly worse than it being high. So in the case of treating high e2, I’m assuming it’s recommended to start off with just one or two doses to see if that fixes the issue without continuing to lower e2 too much. Is that a fair approach to take?
