iāve been applying 5g of 1% T gel (50mg of testosterone) to my shoulders/upper arms every day for almost 2 months now, but i havenāt seen much if any improvement in my mood, state of mind, or quality of erections/sex driveā¦my followup appt with my endocrinologist is on the 18th, and i was planning to ask him to switch me from the 1% gel to the 1.62% gel, as well as to prescribe it in the bottle/pump form instead of the individual single unit-dose packets, as even the largest 24-hour Walgreens pharmacy always has to order them because they donāt EVER keep boxes of the unit-dose packets in stock apparently, and it always takes them DAYS to get it inā¦yet when iām standing at the pharmacy counter, i can literally see the multiple bottles of 1.62% gel and even the topical liquid w/ applicator (generic for discontinued Axiron, meant to be applied to underarms before deodorant) sitting there on the shelf closest to the counter.
iām just looking for any opinions on whether switching to the stronger gel will have more effect, or if thereās another testosterone product or route of administration i should discuss with my doctor that would work better or that my body would absorb better, such as the aforementioned testosterone topical solution thatās meant to be applied to the armpitsā¦or if i should just be patient and give the stronger topical gel a shot. in most studies iāve seen examining the efficacy of testosterone topical gels, a number of patients in the study would have to titrate their dose upwards by applying more of the gel or being switched to a stronger gel, so i figured maybe this is a normal part of the process.
regardless, i just want to start seeing at least SOME results and start feeling even a little bit better and have a better overall mood, more energy and my sex drive back again. if itās relevant, iām a 30 year old guy, 5ā11ā, 210lbs, and my total T level before starting treatment was at 171 ng/dLā¦pretty damn low, i know lol.
anyway i appreciate anyone willing to shed some light on this for me. thanks so much for reading and for anyone who answers this/tries to help me out here, as iām still quite new to TRT.
