Hey,
I have a logo and illustration ready. And I have a unique combination of two words I want to combine to create my brand. Looking at the UK trademark procedure, it looks like I can trademark my brand name without the custom font or illustration (as in just the brand name), or I can trademark it with the custom font and illustration.
Doing more research, I have found that companies like Nike have three trademarks, one for 'Nike', one for the tick logo, and one for the tick logo AND Nike brand name.
So my question is, with my low budget, should I simply apply to trademark the brand name without the font and illustration, and then in the future apply to trademark my illustration/logo as well? Or would trademarking the name, logo and illustration protect all three? Or could someone use my brand name with a new font to get around my protection?
I hope someone can help!
