This had an English dub airing on U.S. television in the early 2000s. These two fairies who couldn't be seen or heard by humans watched over a brown haired MC.

I remember one specific episode that involved a big, tough looking delinquent tampering with a report card - either rewriting his own, or stealing someone else's and replacing the grades with worse ones, I can't recall. MC sees eraser marks on the card, realizes what happened, and runs off to confront the delinquent outside the school. Violence may have occurred, but definitely the fairies were afraid for delinquent's sake. They beg him not to hurt anyone, and MC suddenly calms down and leaves delinquent with his face unbeaten. Fairy One is confused because he can't hear them but still responded, and Fairy Two says that even though the humans can't hear their words, they can still convey their feelings.

I want to say the two fairies had a polite-one-tsundere-one dynamic going on, but I won't swear to it.
