Five favorite episodes of mine...
Post Body

not a top 5 list.

  1. The Royale - Cheeeeeez. Gotta have it. Don't you love the 1988 ambience? Big Texan, big hair, big Worf. Data rolling those dice and getting his "papa needs a new pair of shoes" on...yeahhh. Talk about endless cliché and shallow characters! (I love TNG, really I do.)

  2. Captain's Holiday - What's not to love? Buckling swash and whatnot. I certainly enjoy a good adventure, and seeing Picard do it is a huge bonus, since mister captain slash mediator slash defense attorney slash archaeologist gets to shake off some dust. And I always like Vash. It'd be cool to meet a girl like her some day.

  3. Disaster - Troi really needed this one. Thank God for a story where she can be useful. Only mentioned here because whimsy, and because we see the command structure in disarray and everyone separated off. Again, shaking off some dust yea.

  4. Time's Arrow - You guys probably think very little of my taste seeing these, but again, not a top 5 list. I just remember watching the first airing of Time's Arrow part 1 as a boy, and waiting all summer to see how on Earth (GET IT?) Data's head was going to have that done to it. And I was a sucker for 19th century period stuff back then too.

  5. All Good Things... - Definitely meant to be TNG's pièce de résistance, and I think it modestly succeeds at that. Picard deserves every bit of his adoration in my book--what a man: courageous, brilliant, considerate, and a consummate explorer--and he gets to use it all here. And as disappoint to me as the divorce of him and Beverly is, well, at least we know they got together. And now maybe that can change! (No, I don't read books really.) And from the time-shifts and the tech-yon...i mean, tachyon beams, there is at least some sci in this sci-fi.

Well, maybe I'll do some more some time, but for now...how about you?
