I’ve been asking this question to myself for a few years.

Do I have TMJ?

So I’ve been dealing with pain. I’ll list my symptoms below.

1. Neck muscles are larger on right side of neck. I believe the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Back of neck muscle on right is bigger too. Always tight and sore.

2. Right shoulder and right chest pain.

3. If I open mouth very wide, I hear a slight cracking noise on right side. Not very loud.

4. Right eye is asymmetrical to left eye. Only really noticeable in pictures.

5. Open smile is crooked. Right side opens more.

6. Hyper awareness of right side of face.

7. Headaches on right side of head , rare but happens.

8. Gum/ muscle section that connects back of mouth near wisdom teeth is larger on right side.

9. Tonsil is slightly larger or different on right side then left. I can feel it with my tongue.

10. Some jaw pain but it’s minimal.

11. Always feel like something is in my throat.

12. Symptoms get worse the more I mess with it or think about it.

This has been happening for a few years. So….is TMJ?
