Upon reflection, it seems clear that veganism is the diet which most adheres to this mantra. If you eat meat then you are in fact imposing your diet on other sentient creatures who didn't agree to it. If you were truly standing by your position to "live and let live", you'd be a vegan. Furthermore, it is often said of vegans that they are annoying because they are too forceful about their position. Thinking honestly, is it more forceful to make someone uncomfortable by questioning their diet, or having someone killed because you want to eat them. The second is clearly a much strong imposition of your lifestyle on other beings. So, I agree that we should "Live and let live", but I think omnivores should follow that advice.
