Mesero charging GF ficha prices.

I was at HK with my girl over the weekend. We sat down and tried to order a few beers. Mesero brought over 2 normal beers but said my GF's beer would cost $11. My girlfriend was fully clothed and was dressed modestly. We ended going to Chicago and order beers for like $5 each. What gives? Does HK not want women as customers? I understand HK caters to mostly men, but this practice is disgusting.
