For those unaware, Watchmen is a graphic novel that acts as commentary on superheroes while telling the story that shows the struggles of society in a politically divided world.
Perhaps the best known character outside of Rorschach is Dr. Manhattan. Within the story, Dr. Manhattan is referred to by the American press with headlines like "Superman is real, and he's American!". This is a misquote, as the scientist studying Manhattan actually said "God is real, and he's American."
One of the biggest things different between Watchmen and the real world is that America won the Vietnam war thanks to Dr. Manhattan presence there and his unmatched power. Am I reading into this too much?
Also, Dr. Manhattan took a form of human neurons and a brain while reforming from the accident that gave him his powers, that kinda looks like The Air Force One Angel
