Nails are identical to rescue ranger bolts in terms of damage falloff and damage.

Explanation
massive 9-inch nails that can pop 8 bloons at once including frozen bloons makes it a viable tool for the engineer in dealing with the early game bloons and pesky grouped bloons. Using it on an engineer attacking last in a straight line maximizes the pop limit of the 9 inch nails.
120 damage headshots rewards engineers for aiming well and the idea behind the lack of bleeding is that the nail gets stuck in the skull of the merc and prevents the blood from dripping out of them which also gives engineer a reason to use his pistol secondary to finish off weakened scouts and stuff.
