Double the workload + 3x longer classroom hours - for the same pay as my coworkers. What should I do?
Post Body

Hi guys,

I am an English teacher at a language school in China. Currently I am doing 30h of in class teaching/week (6 hours/day), while the rest of my coworkers are only working 10h a week (2h/day). In addition to working longer classroom hours, my job also requires a lot more preparation than theirs - I teach 10 unique lessons/week; while they only teach 5.

All in all, we work the same time - punch-in at 9 am, punch out at 6 pm. However, I am constantly in the classroom, while my coworkers sit in the office openly drinking lattes, watching Youtube videos and (sometimes!) playing computer games. I have already brought this huge discrepancy to my manager -- I said I would be glad to keep working as I am, should they raise my salary. However, the school has refused to do so, on the grounds that we all spend the same amount of time at the office. I feel like they are treating me with a huge amount of disrespect, and trying to gaslight me too!

My contract is ending in less than a month and I am leaving the country afterwards, so I am honestly considering just quitting to have a bit of a vacation before starting my next job. However, I wouldn't want to completely burn bridges by just abandoning the school and all my students. I don't plan on coming back to China to teach, but future employers will still need to verify my CV and whatnot.

What could be done in this scenario?
