Dementia question
Post Body

Iā€™m writing this in regard to my mother. We were in a bad car accident in 2014 and she suffered a severe TBI.. they didnā€™t think she was going to come out of a coma for 6 months but she ended up coming out after 2 weeks. My question is.. the neurosurgeon told me and my family that severe TBI survivors were more susceptible to getting dementia because the brain continues to deteriorate over the years.. how true is this? Has anyone experienced this or know of someone who has. I noticed my momā€™s memory is iffy lately but thereā€™s noā€testā€ for it and itā€™s hard to diagnose with TBIs..
