Difficulty Level For Upgrading SSD

So I bought my Oryx Pro about 2 years now and have been very happy with it (save for a GPU issue at one point) and I originally got a 500gb SSD and was thinking to upgrading it to 1tb or 2tb. I have never replaced internal SSD before so I'm curious what I should know (tools, software, etc) before undergoing this project?
