Hello everyone. Someday, the Syrian War will end. My guess is that after Assad gets sufficiently stomped by Turkey, we'll see some kind of ceasefire that establishes Idlib and N. Aleppo as a safe zone. Of course, fighting may go on for some time, but all wars eventually end.
When that happens, the conversation of "regime vs. rebels" will shift to issues concerning the millions of Syrians displaced by the war or otherwise unable to return to Syria. Many (if not most) Syrian refugees will never return, and many refugees will become citizens of the countries where they sought refuge. Many Syrians that had dual-citizenship before the war will similarly never return to Syria. The Syrian diaspora be a long-term, multi-generational issue. For that purpose, I have created a new subreddit: reddit.com/r/SyrianDiaspora
I am now looking for fellow pro-opposition Redditors to help me develop that subreddit. As you may know, I and the other moderators that developed the SyrianRebels subreddit have become largely inactive. We've grown older, we have family commitments, and we have a lot less time. Therefore, I'm looking for the next generation of young, energetic Redditors to be a part of this new project. This is your chance to join the moderating team from the very beginning.
Preferred qualifications:
- You are Syrian (whether living in Syria or abroad).
- You have an established, pro-opposition post history on Reddit.
- You have experience developing subreddits.
- You have the time and energy needed to develop a new subreddit from the ground-up.
- You can work independently and collaboratively.
If you are interested, please send me a private message. The quickest way to get a hold of me is on Twitter: https://twitter.com/WarSurfing
Thank you for your interest.
