So as the title mentioned, this is a longshot but nothing ventured nothing gained right?

The short version is back when she was very young my mother met a holiday sweetheart from Switzerland who was visiting the Netherlands. She got pregnant with me but he went back to Switzerland before she was able to tell him he was pregnant.

Throughout the years she has undertaken a number of things to find him, but without any succes.

I have as well, and have also done the whole 23andme and ancestry thing hoping that I would get lucky and find someone who shared my DNA, but alas so far without results.

I recently read some stories on here where Reddit helped with finding lost relatives/ parents so I thougth why not give it a shot.

So now for the long version and the information I know;

His name is Peter Baumann

He's from Switzerland

He drove a beige car with a Swiss plate on it, no one thought to write down the plates unfortunately.

He was in the Netherlands at least twice, in 1982 and 1983 during the "zomerfeesten" of Nijmegen (held each year in July/ August)

In 1982 he stayed in hotel "de plasmolen" in Molenhoek, and in 1983 he stayed in the "etap" hotel near the central station of Nijmegen.

He met my mother in 1982 when they started going out together, and met up again next year around the same time which is when she got pregnant.

He might be born january 20th 1955

He told my mother he was working for the company Philips.

After he went away in 1983 he sent her a postcard which had pictures of st.Gallen, a city in Switzerland, but it had a postal stamp on it that said "9014 - 3-8-1983 - Bruggen"

Both my mother and I have undertaken some searches throughout the years, but so far without any results.

I've always been very curious about him, and would love to be able to at least have a chance of a conversation someday.

Which is why I'm now turning to Reddit, hoping that it can do its magic.

But like I mentioned before, I fully realize this is a long shot, especially after such a long time has passed.
