Is there a 'procedure' for when a dog dies - old age, natural death at home ?
Post Body

Emotional stuff aside, just asking about the logistics.. We adopted a french bulldog 4 years ago, it's now just over 12 years old. Generally ok health but getting deaf and a little blind, usual frenchie fragilities, vet doesn't recommend doing anything due to age.. It's already very old for a frenchie.

If it just drops dead at home, is there anything to do or report? I'm assuming the register or micro chips to be updated, cancel the insurance and report to the commune to stop the dog tax..

I see there is a place nearby to 'dispose of animal cadavers' .. You just take it there?

I don't think we're at deaths door just yet but just thinking ahead, holiday season approaching, it's very old for the breed and the vet doesn't recommend doing anything for the few issues it has.
