Pro controller issues

I’m having a strange issue with my pro controller. If I plug it into my switch dock to charge it, it disconnects the controller from my switch, charges for about 2 seconds(red indicator light turns on), and then stops charging. The USB ports work( I have a wired controller I used to test this and it turns on and works fine). The pro controller works fine and will charge normally from a AC adapter. Anybody have any thoughts on this? It’s not the end of the world or anything but it is rather annoying.
