WTF is happening with my Switch dock?

TV (Samsung) stopped recognising the Switch. Reset TV. Reset Switch. Plugged HDMI in to different sockets. Then tried dock on a neighbour’s TV and their dock on our TV. Nothing worked. Bizarrely, neighbour’s dock now doesn’t work on their TV with their Switch. Have I got a plague dock? Switch works fine in handheld.
