New area boost "reset"?

I mostly only use tinder on business trips. When I enter a new area, I get a boost that's similar to a newbie boost. After 2 or 3 days the boost wears off. If I leave the area and come back a year later I get the boost again.
Anyone know how long you need to be out of the area to get the boost again? (is a month long enough? 6 months? Etc)
