Douching

My wife and I have been active swingers for about a year. She douches before expected play, so maybe twice a month. Recently an odor has been present once PIV takes place. From what I have read on here, it’s likely bacterial vaginosis. I read up that douching can cause this infection.
Many people say that Boric Acid suppositories will do the trick. Is that true? Also, should she stop douching and if so, what should she do to be fresh for a play date?
