We get talking politics is something that people can't not do it seems in [current year]. It's been pushed on us all and the mentality, some worse than others is that the political philosophies are black and white, good vrs evil.

This is completely untrue, and leads to discussions that are dominated by the biggotted and frankly vile opinions that would not be tolerated if they involved anything else.

Most importantly posts that involve politics become a way for posters to show how much on their side they are on but very little of value comes from it.

If someone wants to post how right they are in their opinion, and more importantly how wrong the other side is, there are plenty of subs to do that on, this is not one of them.

So as of today, political talk is banned on this sub. First offense is a 3 day ban, second is permanent . It doesn't matter how someone thinks it pertains to swinging, it doesn't matter even if it does, its not worth the headache and the vitriolic hate all political threads have led to.

This isn't just a ban on political thread posting but in threads as well, same rules apply.

There will be one exception. Local political issues such as a town trying to close a club, and even then if anyone goes full vitriol about groups of people they are subject to banning.

And for the record as I am leaving comments open and expect some will want to attack this because they are so right in their opinions, I'm a libertarian (small L not the party), that makes me pro maximum allowable freedom and minimum government. All mods I've spoken to except one who has not responded yet agree with this ban and we all don't agree politically, only we are adults and realize good and intelligent people can have a difference of opinion without calling each other names.

Edit: I knew I'd be personally attacked for this. I don't care, my skin is quite thick, and why I kept comments open, I knew some would be itching at their keyboards to tell me how bad I am. I'll remind you this was a unanimous decision by all mods who responded. And unlike political sub mods we won't ban you for being mean to us, treat you unfairly, or only allow one side to talk. This isn't Twitter. The sub is focused on inclusion of all swingers and teaching/helping new swingers, or even helping experienced ones navigate the problems in swinging.
