This is an offshoot of another thread on here. Everyone is entitled to their preferences. You like what you like and that’s no one else’s business. However, when you broadcast on a profile what you don’t like, in an attempt to filter your DMs as in (I don’t like ${X} type of person), you’re setting yourself up to be judged on your preferences. When you bring race into the equation, good luck, people don’t tend to be charitable about interpreting your intentions.

The solution? Simple. Don’t like black men? Don’t message them. If they message you, just say “no thanks”. You could just not respond at all. Hell, you could even block them. No explanation necessary. Seems like it would be a lot easier than putting “NO BLACK MEN” on your profile and then defending yourself against accusations of racism.

Is it racist? Could be. I don’t know. I can’t read your mind, I can read that profile though and it looks kinda racist. It’s unlikely that people will reach out for clarification. They will just assume you are racist and now you’re the one getting filtered out. Could have been avoided. Less is more. You don’t need to tell everyone everything.
