I always read reddit reviews before going some place new, so I wanted to contribute for those in the future looking to go to EDR.

My wife and I went on Saturday. We have previously been to SMI (wrote a gonewildstories description of our experience here) and wanted to try somewhere new.

Our Experience

We got to EDR early afternoon around 2pm. It's pretty centrally located in Palm Springs, easy to get to and easy parking. I had purchased a day pass. We were checked in, and then shown around by the woman at the front desk, who was nice and helpful.

There was a pool party going on in the big pool, and the other two pools and hot tubs were pretty deserted. During the day we just saw people socializing in the pool, and didn't anything sexual going on. Most people were on the older side (meaning 40 ), with a wide range of body types and kinds of people. Most people were fully naked, some women were just topless, a few people in bathing suits/clothes. We're in our mid 30s and were the youngest people there.

With everyone clustered in the pool and no one our age we were intimidated and so just hung out by ourselves, eventually transitioning to one of the back pools which was quieter for some naked swimming.

Early evening we decided to go elsewhere and get a drink and dinner. The day passes are good until midnight and they allow reentry.

We returned around 830pm for the "school girl" party. There were people dressed up in "school girl" costumes and loud music and dancing by the main pool, with some people still in the pool and hot tub looking on.

That wasnt really our thing, so again went to the back pool for some naked night swimming. The evening crowd was younger, and had more people we found attractive. There was more action in the play rooms and the maze.

We swam naked, and eventually moved to the hot tub. We watched another couple play by the hot tub, and played a bit by ourselves there, with some watchers. Eventually we moved to the maze. The maze seemed to go pretty unused, but noticed a crowd of people moving in the direction so we followed. We picked a bed to play by ourselves on. There was a constant stream of voyeurs who came by and would stand and watch us and then move on, and another couple fucking in a bed across the way so we were able to enjoy watching them.

After playing it was about 1030 and we decided that we were done and ready to return to our hotel. The back to school party was still going, but had died down a bit, but there were definitely still people around at the club.

Review

EDR is similar to other "lifestyle" or "swinger" places we've been. Definitely a little funky or quirky, but it's clearly maintained and run by people who care. They have security, and the facilities seem actively maintained. The crowd is diverse, and the people we met at night were friendly. The age range during the day was on the older side, and a little younger at night. If we go again we'll definitely just go at night.

The day crowd didn't seem very interested in anything sexual, while at night people there was definitely more play going on. While the maze didn't seem to get a lot of use, when it was used it was hot and fun. We didn't go into the orgy room, but the BDSM red room was getting use, mostly for the sex swing.

While EDR is couple only there were definitely a few unaccompanied men wandering around and watching. It wasn't clear where their partners were.

Our impression of EDR is that it is very "lifestyle" and very "swinger". Meaning, very cis het and fairly conventional in terms of the types of people and sexuality. I don't mean this as a value judgement, just a vibe description.

In comparison to SMI, EDR is larger, meaning you're not thrown into social situations just by sheer proximity. This was both good and bad. Good in the sense that we could night swim nude by ourselves and have the space, but bad in that it felt a little harder to socialize. My wife prefers EDR to SMI, I like both equally. It felt like people at SMI were more interested in fucking than people at EDR, but we haven't been to either place enough to really say.

Overall, we enjoyed it and would return.
