Tired of getting sick after every party.

Post Body

Don't get me wrong, I love the parties. We've got a decent crew and they host house parties roughly once every 1-2 months, sometimes a little more often.

But it seems that at least 50% of the time one of us gets a cold or something else right afterward, and we're in quarantine mode for at least a week trying to clear it and trying to prevent the other half from getting it.

Our last party was on the 4th of July, and then we caught strep. And then the strep was penicillin resistant so we went on a 2nd round of different antibiotics to clear it. And then somehow I also got COVID in the middle of the 2nd round so basically at least one of us has been sick for THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JULY.

Kinda makes me wary of doing anything LS right now. Granted I'm pretty sure the COVID wasn't the LS's fault but all of the recent sickness combined has taken a toll on our mental health.

Anyone else seem to have fairly crappy immune systems when it comes to the LS? Anything we can do to try and boost our systems prior to LS events? We've got 2-3 party invites for August and I'm just not sure about it at the moment.

Thanks!

Honestly with monkeypox starting to spread we may stick to W 2 on 1/2 dates for now. Sucks because we just went to our first party recently too :/

@agent37586 @silent_dot_4759 My question is have you found other endurance athletes in the lifestyle? We would love to meet other while racing. On the upside it would be nice to find someone who could keep up.😈

We live in a very active community but have never reached out to any of our Tri/running friends. We are still are a few years into the lifestyle. We might not be looking in the right places. We love to travel for our Ironman races.
