I've never had much problem getting or keeping an erection, unless I've had far too much to drink. We have played with a variety of types of couples- from those who are 'just friends who go fuck together' to comfortably committed, long-term marriages.
My wife is agreeably hot, not just by my own biased standards.
But when it comes to getting down, they either struggle to get it up, or struggle to maintain their erection and that often leads to disappointment for her.
How common is this, and is there anything she/we can do to improve the experience?

Male half speaking here, personally I have no problem keeping an erection unless I'm wearing a condom.
Perhaps that could be the issue? Not worth skipping out on the condom, but if so could trade for a female condom instead?
