This is NOT about taking control of this sub, nor is it about competing with this subreddit. Just want to be clear on that. :)

I was told that you all may want to know this.

Some of you may have noticed that your state has one swinger specific subreddit (usually like, /r/YOURSTATESwingers) that is pretty popular and that is being run by only one mod. And that one mod doesn't actually mod, like remove spam, or dick pics, or guys only posts, or even underage stuff. Our local one had actual swingers posting about 1 out of every 25 posts and usually those just got buried in the sea of dicks and spam.

Well, after nearly a year of trying we were able to take over ours. One of our mods (three of us run some local NSFW subs) has been pretty active in trying to offer help to this one problem subreddit. This mod never replied and it started to look like his account is just a bot - at least 99% of the time. So after exhausting all that we could in trying to help him, this mod sent a request to r/redditrequest and today he was given the keys! WhooHOO!

Upon taking over, it's clear that the previous mod has never removed spam, never answered modmail, and basically just let it sit and collect dust - though, it looks like he was getting link $$$ from the sidebar. We suspect that the Reddit Admins who approved our taking over also saw this.

Hopefully the reddit swinger community can begin to take control back over these subredditts to spur healthy, local, swinger conversations.
