“Organic” meeting

We are fairly new to meeting couples so I wanted to ask the community about a situation:
We are talking to the male half of a couple on an app. He mentioned his wife was still warming up to the idea of group play. Later when we were asking about meeting up he mentioned his wife wanted the meeting to be “organic”, that she didn’t want to know when arranged meetings.
Is this organic meeting stuff a thing? Is it bullshit or am I being overly paranoid? It smells sketchy to me, but that is always where my head goes when all parties of a couple aren’t involved in chatting.
