Hi all - for you soft swap only couples out there (otherwise monogamous with their SO), how frequently do you get tested for STIs? My wife and I are new with only 2 soft swaps in the last 2 months (two separate couples, oral only without barrier protection). We frankly haven't had a full STI panel done since our single days 16 years ago. We do get some coverage through OB appts (pap smear, etc.) and annual bloodwork from a physical (HIV only I think). I'm thinking it would make sense to just start getting in a routine of getting tested quarterly or so (alternating between us every 6 weeks or so) but that feels like maybe a bit overkill with just soft swap.

Right or wrong (definitely wrong) we haven't had the STI conversation with our new partners around testing status, previous STIs, etc. We need to be better at that for sure.

In addition to that both of us are on shot 2 of our HPV vaccine and have been tested a few times for COVID since the pandemic started, for what it's worth.
