Lately I have been seeing posts looking for partners who are "dominant". I realize this is also a term used in Dom/Sub BDSM play, however, in this context, they are looking for a 3-some partner and not a BDSM partner. I've seen it more than once recently.

So my question for everyone (especially like to hear from the ladies point of view) is: where is the line for you between confident and dominant? When does it simply look like "too aggressive"?

The reason I ask is that I consider myself very confident. Sometimes, my confidence comes off as overly aggressive (not physically or inappropriately, but mentally) and occasionally turns a partner or prospective partner off. How could I level up my confidence into dominance, without hitting aggressive? [bear in mind this is all before play] Or is dominance a purely physical thing and only matters during play?
