First contact etiquette: online vs. in person.

Has anyone else notice the disparity between online first contact and in person contact?
When I went to a club, vibe was super friendly, and communication was open and friendly. There was no grabbing or like overly-salacious behavior.
Online connections seem to be MUCH different. First contact seems to be dick pictures or immediate descriptive behavior. Like, I’m okay with sexy talk and such when I get to know a person or couple, but it generally isn’t a turn on when I get slapped in the face with it.
Does anyone else have this experience? What ways to you mitigate it? Should I consider this ‘normal?’
