One of the local clubs (not one we regularly go to) posted a party for this weekend. I won’t mention the name because they’ve since come to their senses and cancelled.

This isn’t about debating when is the right time to open with regard to safety. Let’s not get into that debate. It won’t go anywhere good. But, our local government is very far from allowing any clubs to open, let alone lifestyle clubs. The last thing we need as a group is negative publicity. Can you see the headlines? “Governor has barely allowed outdoor seated dining, and a group of swingers have decided to get together for a party?” That could have been such a disaster for our local scene. I’ll never begrudge a club owner opening as soon as legally allowed regardless of how I feel about it from a safety aspect. They’re a business that needs to make money, and if they don’t open, the guy down the street happily will and welcome their regulars. But to do something against the current guidelines is absolutely foolish. Glad they came to their senses and hope they continue to keep their heads down until the all clear is given.
