Standard Panel Testing vs 10-point Panel Testing
Post Body

Greetings everyone,

Due to a recent health scare we've implemented a 3-month testing schedule for all play partners that includes a standard panel test (HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea). The frequency and test seems to be the best combination of ease, availability and apples-to-apples comparison between different folks with differing access to healthcare and testing facilities. Standard panel can range from free with health insurance to $100 out of pocket.

We've been contemplating implementing a 10-point full panel test requirement but the cost requirements can become a bit cost prohibitive for a lot of casual play partners and also, simply making them aware and educating them as to what it entails has been a project onto itself.

What have couples here found to be the best optimal solution? We are debating mixing and matching tests, 10-point panel once or twice a year, standard panel quarterly.

In all honesty we probably don't care too much about HSV-1 (coldsores) but HSV-2 is a deal breaker due to stigma. Hepatitis is an abstract concern.

Many thanks!

P.S. Also what's with guys who show only their HIV-negative status and think they're good to go for bareback play?
