My better half and I went to Tabu (Baltimore, MD) last night for the first time. Good call.

The staff was very helpful and friendly- they made us feel welcome immediately. The place has a great vibe, and we had a blast on the dance floor. It was crowded with a great mix of age, ethnicity, and body type.

A little backstory- we've been active in the lifestyle for about one year. We've been to a different east coast club twice, and we didn't have the best experiences. The clubs are loud (duh) and connecting with people can be difficult. We weren't able to make any connections. We had fun, but it didn't leave us yearning for more. We have had a few great experiences with couples in one-on-one dating situations.

Tabu was different. It's a smaller venue, and there are places where you can have a conversation away from the music. The DJ was awesome (which means he played familiar and popular songs), and he seemed to be able to get the crowd involved. They don't allow smoking throughout the club.

We were also different as well- we went in wanting to be more deliberate in talking to other couples. About 15 minutes in, we approached a couple and started chatting and dancing. We talked, had drinks, danced some more, and then we all started to fool around on the dance floor. From there, we went down into one of the public rooms and had an intense, very public (soft) swap. The audience was surprising in their boldness, sheer number and proximity. Neither me nor my hot swap partner had ever been in such a scenario. She has amazing oral skills and her body is delicious. My wife and her husband also had a great connection in another part of the room.

So, a new club (and a new us) led to a great time with some new friends that we hope to see again soon!

TL;DR- Tabu is a great club. We met a couple and played in a public room.
