We’ve been frequent guests of CSC over the past year and a half. The club has become our favorite spot. Here’s our review:
Basic info: Membership (annual) $45/$275/$775, Event cost $90/$60/50, Hours: Open most Saturday nights 8:30 - 2am (couples nights) and some Friday’s (Bi night, non-gender balanced), Run by: Partnership of a few couples.
Getting there: Knowledge of the exact location is limited to members and their guests. The club is located in the southern end of Providence in an industrial area near the docks. If you didn’t know it was there, you’d never guess what goes on in the building. A simple red door with the letters “CSC” are all that indicates the club entrance. There’s plenty of parking on the street and at two parking lots on either end of the short street. The club provides an attendant to ensure members find parking and to keep an eye on cars.
Membership: There’s two avenues to join the club. First is to visit their [website](www.choicesocialclub.com), and fill out the application. You then go through a quick phone screening to ensure you understand what kind of club it is. The other is to come as a guest of an existing member. They allow you to visit the first time for $60 as a couple. After a first visit, there are three levels of annual membership to choose from, basic ($45), premium ($275) and VIP ($775). Once a membership is established, party fees are $90 basic, $60 premium, and $50 VIP. Basic and premium get a $10 discount for advanced signup. VIP offers a more secluded area with nice lockers, a shower and two more play rooms. Singles have a different fee structure. Without too many details, it’s how you’d expect. It’s effectively free for single women and $100 per night for single guys.
Bar: BYOB. The club provides all basic mixers. There is no pour fee, but there is a tip jar for the bar staff. You use your member number to let the bartenders know what you brought. If you’ve been in the past, the bar used to be an issue (too small, only one bar tender). They’ve recently expanded the bar and routinely have 2 to 3 bartenders available.
Club Layout: After entering the red door, there’s one flight of stairs to the main lobby. A staff member greets you and checks you in and collects any alcohol you’ve brought. The main lobby has a small kitchen with a coffee machine. Through red double doors on the left, there is a locker room with two changing booths as well as the bathroom. Lockers are free, just bring a lock. The locker room area and main lobby are the only two “no nudity allowed” areas. To the right as you enter the double red doors is the dance floor (more on that later). Across the dance floor, you enter the main lounge area. There is a large L-shaped bar, a couch / love seat area, and two high top tables. Branching off this main area are two wings with play rooms. For rooms, they have a variety ranging from small, single bed to a room with a single bed and couch, to one with two beds. There is an open orgy pit with three beds packed close together. There’s rooms with themes (classroom, blacklight room, massage room, etc). There’s rooms with open doors and just a velvet rope, ones with curtains and ones with fully closable doors. There’s a variety of windows with curtains. There’s even one with a one-way mirror window. You can basically pick and choose how much of an exhibitionist you’d like to be from completely out in the open, to completely behind closed doors. There is also a variety of BDSM equipment (the club will throw fetish nights as well, on occasion). We’re no BDSM experts, but there are two St. Andrew’s crosses and many tie-up locations. You’ll also find a room with a Sybian.
Dancing: While not the major focus of any night, at some point, the dance floor usually gets packed. This is one area the club lacks. The music can be rough. It’s not that they play bad music, but they generally don’t have a DJ, so there’s no one to help the music flow with the mood of the crowd. On the occasional night they do have one, dancing is much better. But, the floor is nice. There’s plenty of room. There’s a nice stripper pole. Couches line the walls so play is certainly allowed on the dance floor, though it’s rare to see.
Crowd: CSC gets a variety of ages. From 20’s to late 50’s and beyond. Like most swinging crowds, the majority seem to be early to mid forties, but there is a good spread. The club is quick to ban folks that misbehave, so we’ve rarely seen any issues and anything that does arise, is dealt with quickly. Single guys are allowed, but most nights are “gender balanced” unless otherwise noted. Honestly, even the non gender balanced nights are completely comfortable for a couple like us that has no interest in single males. Friday nights tend to have more of a kink / fetish crowd than normal. We’ve seen some hot displays put on during Friday night parties.
Other considerations: Upon first visiting, you get a guided tour to show you everything and go over the club’s rules. The staff is outstanding! Very quick to accomodate anything you might need. Rooms are turned over almost immediately with a good wipe down and clean linens. Cameras are completely forbidden in the club. No phones allowed out of pockets. They’re very strict on this. Like many couples, we must have a phone on us, so we just keep it on vibrate in our pocket. If we need to check, the lobby area is the one place phones can be used.
I hope this helps anyone looking to check out CSC. We feel lucky that we have this club so close by. We’ve been to a few others in the area, and they don’t stack up.
