I've read a few of the posts about the NYC clubs, but I'm looking for a little more detail.

Like the title says, we are new to this. Well, the female half is new to this. We exploring different avenues of ENM. We are CT-based and do weekends in NYC a few times a year. In a prior relationship, I went to a few venues in Montreal, one in Providence, and a bunch of private events. Long story short, my partner has a low tolerance for skeevy and a pretty high standards for attraction. In my experience years ago, there can be a huge variance. We would be willing to submit application and don't mind a bit expensive if it's actually worth it. We are soft swap and haven't crossed that line yet.

To give a little info to help send us in the right direction, I am 52, she is 45. We are both conventionally attractive, but not A-list hot. We are looking for a place that has a good ratio of attractive couples, decent (ideally posh) vibe, and sanitary play areas. Oh, and no pressure or handsy single guys. Not much, right?

We are hoping to pick a place for the next time we go into the city and have a zero pressure, low expectations night. Check out the vibe. See it it feels right once we are there. Strange as it sounds, we would rather be a room with more attractive people and NOT match than be in a place with a lot unattractive people and have to say no all night.
