Has anyone been to a hotel takeover hosted by this group?

This is my wife and I’s first hotel takeover and we don’t really know what to expect, what are like the etiquette rules of a hotel takeover?
The club we had visited before had wristbands that indicated if you were new, wanted full swap, or soft, etc. is this common?
What would you recommend as advise to prepare for our first hotel takeover ?
