The ebbing and flowing of activity in the community

We are still just under a year in the lifestyle, yet we have started to notice that sometimes the community as a whole just dies down out of nowhere and then takes off at other times. Of course a lot of factors at play and with holiday season upon us (our first in the lifestyle) we anticipated slowing, but there have been seemingly random drops in interest as well. Curious if others have noticed these patterns or if it is just us?
