My girlfriend [30F] and I [31m] are thinking about going to a swingers club in our area. We're still in the talking phase and deciding whether or not we both will be comfortable in trying something like this.

One thing we're both a little nervous about is appearances, especially my GF. We both carry a little around the middle. They best way I would describe us is chubby (I like this btw, and would be VERY happy to have fun with a woman with a similar bodytype to my partner). But she's worried about having her self esteem shattered... she's aware and mature enough to know not everyone is into her bodytype, and that not every guy will be crawling on their knees toward her, but she has had some issues with bullying in the past and is IMO quite rightly nervous about someone doing/saying something that will hurt her feelings.

We've watched a bit of lifestyle porn together (very hot btw) but the difference in bodytypes online and stuff seems misleading, going both ways in appearance, and we're not sure what to expect.

I'm pretty bulletproof myself when it comes to this stuff but wow I am nervous for her sake. It would break my heart if we went to try something so exciting and have it end with her self-esteem taking a serious knock.

In your opinion, what do most people in the ACTUAL lifestyle look like, is it unreasonable for us - with our bodytypes - to try something like this, and in all honesty, how open/supportive is the actual community when it comes to things like this?
