Advice on etiquette for social meets

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice on how to approach moving social meets into play meets. We've a social meet set up in the next few weeks and wondering about what the done thing is at the end of the night.
As in, would you try to arrange a play meet at the end of the social or would it be better to wait until after the social to try and arrange something? Just want to avoid making anything awkward.
