Bit of a backstory here:

I started with a new company a few months ago and the head of the company has been super friendly. For starters, my wife and I are pretty attractive - Iā€™m a bodybuilder and my wife is just gorgeous. Within a few weeks, my boss has invited us out for some boating fun.

Weā€™ve began building a great relationship, my wife hits it off with his wife and him and I frequently go out for lunch and enjoy each otherā€™s company. In all fairness, Iā€™ve been a catalyst for success, being the only person he can depend upon and weā€™ve transformed the company in a few short months.

With that being said, we were out with a couple friends when we bumped into my boss and my friends immediately went ā€œwe donā€™t trust himā€ and ā€œIā€™m getting swinger vibesā€. Since those comments were made, I canā€™t get them out of my head. I havenā€™t seen many signs, but in a few short months Iā€™ve found myself buddied with him and we are constantly being invited to drink.

Thereā€™s even a company function coming up and my boss asked me if we could party together after everyone leaves, extending into the evening. I canā€™t help but let those comments anchor into my brain. I canā€™t tell if this is grooming for swinging or if they genuinely like us a friends only. We donā€™t swing and never would, we are not into sharing or any perceived actions of the sort. Everyone around me is adamant that they are setting us up for the big question, but Iā€™m so torn.

I guess what Iā€™m asking is: A) does this sound like we are being set up for the question?

B) if so, how do we navigate this with professional ties branching into the relationship if it were to happen - because weā€™d say no and be in an uncomfortable position professionally

C) am I looking too far into this? Any advice would be amazing.

Option C most likely.

But

If something comes up just say - sorry, we gotta keep business business - laugh it off and move on.
