A Sybian for our parties

We bought a Sybian to add to the fun at our parties. We're going to put it in the same room with the winch and swing.
Does anybody have any experience or advice for the Sybian? Should we put it on top of a mattress or does it need to be on the floor? Do you use the spring or the plastic sticks? Do the sticks get broken? They seem to be Delrin, so I could just buy the material and cut my own, since they're expensive.
