I'll start by saying that I have a sales background, and have noticed a very strong correlation between the LS vetting process and a traditional sales funnel. I'll also mention that our end-goal as a couple has always been to have a small group of close FWB couples to swap with, where we can schedule a date every 2-3 weeks without the whole vetting process. For context, we're a late 30s couple in good physical shape and have been active in the LS for about a year.
I'm curious to compare our 'close rate' and 'repeat business' metrics. I've been noticing that when we finally do find a couple to play with, it's usually one and done. The last 4 couples we played with started 'taking a break from the LS' right after playing with us. I'm not sure how much of this is typical LS stuff, or if maybe myself or my partner are just terrible in bed.
Anyway, down the funnel by the numbers.
We send an initial message: 30% response.
Chatting/Vibe Check: 30% schedule casual drinks
Drinks/Non-play date: 50% schedule play date
Play Date: 10% schedule 2nd dates.
So far we have established 0 ongoing FWB connections, but some have filtered out because they had a baby or moved out of state.
Do these seem like typical numbers or are we doing something wrong? I'll probably send 10 new messages a month, which results in a play date every 2-3 months - excluding clubs.
