MFM or FMF

Outside of group play (anything with more than 3 people) do you prefer MFMs or FMFs?
Please only respond if you have actually done some version (MFM/MMF/FMF/FFM) on both sides. I know in theory everyone fantasize about the FFM. but for those who have played both sides of the fence (regardless if there was bi play or not) what was your favorite experience? Or which one do you think is the safest bet for a good time, even if the other one had one experience that was your favorite?
Was there anything the experience that made it specifically special or ick?
