Has anyone with kids still living at home figure out how to travel frequently for LS events? If so, and assuming you aren’t open about your reason for travel, what is your back story for those watching your kids? We have absolutely loved our once a year travel to a multi-day LS event. For that trip, our story is that we have a yearly get together with friends each summer. That story holds up but the same story would not if we were traveling monthly.
We don’t have jobs that would require frequent travel over a weekend so blaming our jobs would sound fishy. We thought about making up some kind of side business that would require travel to conferences but that seems like a big lie that would fall apart after awhile and traveling together like that would seem odd since we are in completely different industries.
Our kids are well traveled so most ideas we’d get the odd question from our kids or the grandparents of “why can’t the kids come with us?” Kids aren’t quite old enough to leave by themselves for a weekend so what story would you give the grandparents who would watch the kids? “Your son in law likes to watch your daughter get railed” wouldn’t go over well.
