With everybody buried into their phones there is a lost art of picking-up/meeting people in public places. There was a time where meeting somebody on the internet, much less a phone app, was considered for people with “no game.” Now, engaging somebody in a public place is considered creepy, as you see people with their faces buried in their phones in bars and other places that were once way more conducive to socializing. But! when you go resort for swingers, it’s always a blast, even if you don’t meet a couple that fits for you. Do you find the game is enjoyable in its own or is it just us? That said, a secondary and almost contrasting question, regards the dress-up element of swingers’ culture. We like meeting people, the fun, but the theme nights and costumes never made sense to us. Anybody else wish you could skip the neon, 70s, and other dress-up stuff? Beggars can’t be choosers, but if we had a choice, we would drop the costume nights.
Swingers tend to be very fun people!
I find it insufferable when people think its some crime to be on your phone in public. Sometimes I want to chat and meet people. Sometimes I want to have dinner and a drink at the bar and read a book on my phone. My time attention are mine to give or not as I see fit.

I have no trouble doing this alone or with my partner or friends. I dont think anyone has thought I'm creepy. So this might be a you problem. I'd suggest reflecting on whether your attitude that people owe strangers their time and attention is connected to the perception of creepiness.

Yup.
You were just complaining about people being on their phones.
