Hello!
My wife and I (34/35) have been interested in the lifestyle and talking about it off and on for four or five years. Last August, we took the plunge and went to Desire Riviera Maya for our first experience. We’d gone to lots of nude beaches and hot springs in the past, but never anywhere openly lifestyle oriented.
We had a lot of awesome sex with each other and enjoyed being naked on the beach during our time at RM, but, contrary to seemingly everyone on Reddit and podcasts, we did not like the resort. The charged atmosphere was exciting, but the food was very underwhelming, the room was so-so, the entertainment was just ok, and we sadly weren’t into any of the couples we met.
We’re left thinking maybe resorts in general are not our vibe and we’re more of a choose-your-own-adventure kind of couple. Our typical vacations are at Airbnbs in driving distance to interesting food, outdoor activities and beaches. We also like to connect with people in conversation and the party atmosphere can be hard to break through.
So, now we have lots of questions. If we’re still lifestyle curious, what should we try next? Are day passes somewhere like Hedonism worth it? Should we try a club (we’re in Colorado)? Private events? Did we just go to DRM the wrong time of year (August)? Did we do it wrong?! ðŸ«
