I’m surprised that there’s still so much discussion about SLS and other LS apps in this sub rather than referring people to FB groups. There’s less fakes and flakes to deal with, no monthly payments to make, it’s a much easier platform to keep up with events, the groups are private, and there’s more active members in the groups than on the websites.
In my area there is a group that organized and started hosting parties back in the 90’s. They finally hosted their first event on FB and the said it was the most successful party they’ve ever hosted. Another group just south of us hosted a weekend party with nearly 1000 people. Everyone I know who attended said the event was incredible.
I understand there’s a fear of being outed, we haven’t had any issues, the ones who’ve had problems seem to have done it to themselves. Aside from that fear why aren’t we trying to get people off the lame apps and websites and directing them to what’s currently working best? Are there FB groups in your areas? It can’t just be a local thing to me.
Thanks to facebook I know 90% of the swingers in the USA with a facebook profile. Friends of friends, you may also knows, linking to events etc. Swinging is a pretty small community when it comes down to it, at least active party event style swinging.
Our swinger facebook is 100% anonymous, but my wife is friends with a few swinger women on their 'normal' facebook. Every so often she gets a "you may also know" with no mutual friends for people we know are lifestyle, some we met traveling and never linked directly to us.
Basically their algorithms and spying on you is impossible to avoid if you are on there. Its just a question of if you care enough for the off chance there is a problem some day.

The event isn't the problem for facebook, its the members IN your event. And don't think for a minute facebook isn't using your event for linking, they had to admit they "read" DM's at one point though they said it wasn't done by humans.
True story. We used to have an Alexa, key word used to, got it as a gift when they were new. We had it plugged in, in the kitchen, not using it just plugged in, we talked about getting a very specific product for the first time, never searched anywhere else. My wifes FB feed the next day was filled with multiple adds for said product.
The Alexa went into a box unplugged.
This like this
And this
and whatever else you want to find, you are the product and they will get that information.
